December 3-4, 2024 - Turkish Consulate General Geneva and Ecole Hoteliere De Geneve - World Turkish Coffee Day Event

On December 3-4, 2024, as part of December 5 World Turkish Coffee Day, two different events were organized in Geneva with the initiative of Turkey's Consulate General in Geneva and in cooperation with Turkish Airlines, Turkish Coffee Culture and Research Association, and Culinary Arts Academy.

The first event, held at a hotel in the morning, was attended by Turkey's Consul General in Geneva Ms. Ipek Zeytinoglu Ozkan, THY Geneva Manager Mr. Huseyin Avni Gumrukcuoglu, Turkish Coffee Culture and Research Association Vice Chairman Mr. Osman Serim, along with coffee industry representatives from western Switzerland, journalists and members of other country representations. Mr. Osman Serim gave a detailed presentation about Turkish coffee. Afterwards, Turkish coffee and Turkish delight were served to the guests, and coffee fortune readings were offered at the end of the event.

In the afternoon, the second event was a presentation about Turkish coffee to students at "Ecole Hoteliere de Geneve," Geneva's prestigious hotel, tourism and gastronomy school. School director Ms. Suzanne Welle and Consul General Ms. Ipek Zeytinoglu Ozkan delivered welcome speeches at the opening of the program.

Turkish Coffee Culture and Research Association Vice Chairman Mr. Osman Serim also gave a presentation about Turkish coffee at this event. After the presentation, Turkish coffee and Turkish delight were served to students while information was provided about Turkish coffee brewing methods.
